Be here now

March 25, 2013

I’ve never been a huge fan of the mid-century retro style of Palm Springs, but these homes are making me rethink that.

My family used to vacation quite a bit in Palm Springs when I was younger; always in August, no less! (probably because that’s when the cheapest rates were, because seriously WHO wants to vacation in the desert in AUGUST?!). These trips always left me with memories of oppressive desert heat, golf, and boring, pool-filled-days. However, lately I’m liking the lackadaisical, resort-living style more than ever. I’ve got a sneaking suspicion that the Paule Ka S/S/ 13 Campaign by Venetia Scott has something to do with it…

With that, I give you a collection of homes I want to be right now, Palm Springs edition:

  • Hi Micaela, I’ve been a blog reader for quite a while but have never left a comment. I always enjoy your posts, but this post had me feeling extra happy because I love Palm Springs! I shot a Palm Springs home & architecture photo series, and thought you might enjoy…!

    • Hi Jen! Aww thank you. I checked out your post and all those homes (and your photography!) look wonderful. I see you photographed the same pink rancher and the house with the pink door that I posted… neat! Where in Palm Springs are those homes btw? I love them and would love to visit them the next time I’m down in PS.

  • omg what places! I want to be there right now!

  • Whoa, Palm Springs in August? Yikes! I would melt. I’m such a fan of this style – they’re my dream home! xo
