have a great (long) weekend! - drifter and the gypsy blog
It’s Labor Day weekend here in the US, which is a pretty bittersweet occasion for me because it also marks the unofficial last weekend of summer. Womp womp. My mom and I are shooting an outfit post today at a really cute cafe by the beach in SF. It’s the first of three shoots in three outfits featuring dresses from a Canadian designer’s first collection. There are hair bows and French vibes involved. Be excited.

Since my dad has off from work on Monday and I haven’t yet started school, the fam and I are probably going to take a day trip somewhere. My dad said it would be fun to explore a place we’ve never been before. We really don’t do that enough! A few weeks ago, when my grandma was visiting us from Florida, we spent an afternoon in Mill Valley and I fell in love. It was kind of funny, actually. My dad and I were a bit COMPLETELY infatuated with this sweet floral shop. So much so that my dad said in another career he’d like to be a florist! Ummm where did THAT come from? (To give some context to his remark, he’s currently a financial adviser.) So maybe we’ll explore another cute city in the bay. Any recs? I love living in California because there are so many places to explore no matter what direction you go in. Have a great weekend, wherever you are!

  • Aw that sounds like a perfect way to bid farewell to summer!
I am totally on board with your father’s idea of becoming a florist in another career — I feel like that would be a stressful job on its own, but you’d be surrounded by beauty constantly…!
