Gym Class

gym class - drifter and the gypsy blog
A little sporty outfit for ya this week… If only gym class uniforms were this cute in real life. Which leads me to my next question: Did you call gym class “gym” or “P.E.” in school? Where I grew up–in Connecticut–all us kids called it gym, but when I moved to California, everyone called it P.E. I got a few weird looks before I caught on to the fact it was “P.E.” and not “gym.” (Personally I like calling it gym class, but that’s just me.) Also in Connecticut, we didn’t have any gym class uniforms, at least in the public middle school I went to. I must admit it did get a little competitive over which girl had the cutest workout outfit, so I was secretly relieved when I discovered we had to wear gym class (errr… P.E.) uniforms in California.

You may remember when I wrote about JumpFromPaper a few months ago. It’s an accessories brand specializing in handbags, purses, backpacks and wallets. It was inspired and designed by quirky “Kids of the Internet Age” which explains the cartoonish look of the 2-dimensional graphics. Pretty cool, eh? You’ve got to check out their website–even their logo looks like it’s jumping out at you!

The backpack has a bunch of zippers to allow it to expand and can surprisingly fit more in it than I had expected!

Also I had to be super cliché and wear this bow necklace from RossLab with my bow print shirt. It just fit in with the outfit TOO WELL. I’m a girl, what can I say.

  • Your backpack is something amazing! Love the effect!

  • I think we used the terms “gym” and “P.E.” interchangeably. In elementary school it was always “gym” and then the official class name in high school was “P.E.” so I think there was a sense that P.E. was the more “mature” term…and I’m from Chicago, so maybe the middle of the country is where the two terms unite!

    Love the outfit!

    • Hmm maybe it was just a difference in elementary school vs. middle/high school then and less of a difference in areas of the country. 😉

      Thanks hun!
