Hi! I’m Micaela, a lifestyle entrepreneur focusing on ethical fashion, sustainable living, and wellness in Los Angeles, California. I started this Internet thing in 2008 (a.k.a. I’m ancient in blog years). I love color, online shopping, crunchy apples, banana motifs, summertime, and a good meme. I’m a recovering perfectionist with truckloads of gut issues who loves fashion, but doesn’t take it seriously. I’m an extroverted introvert, an optimistic cynic, and a sentimental fool with a sucker for nostalgia.

I also run Drifter Organics, a line of certified organic, certified cruelty-free, vegan, and non-GMO skincare.

In November 2008, I started a blog called Drifter & the Gypsy. I was 14 years old. I had just moved to California from Connecticut and started my freshman year of high school. I was overwhelmed, needing an outlet for self-expression. Drifter & the Gypsy enabled me to cope with the anxieties of change. Through this medium of communication, I was able to connect with others in similar situations and thereby harness our talents to accomplish something positive, while promoting a healthful lifestyle.

In October of 2015 I renamed my blog to Oh My Drifter. You can read the reasons behind that decision here. In December of 2018, I renamed my blog to Fruit Salad. You can read the backstory of that here. In August of 2019, I rebranded. Again. For the 5th time. I ultimately landed on just using my name and this brand now finally feels 100% me. Cool beans.
